Amelia Painter is headed to WordCamp!
WordCamps are informal, community-organized events that are put together by WordPress users and professional. Everyone from casual users to core developers participate, share ideas, and get to know each other. WordCamps are held all around the world each year. According to a January 2015 Web Technology Survey, “WordPress was used by more than 23.3% of the top 10 million websites as of January 2015.”
WordPress has gained popularity with professional web developers because it enhances websites in a variety of important ways: the client and the developer save money, clients can take control over their own sites (add/edit/remove content), it is easy to incorporate advanced functionality (e-commerce, mapping, user submitted content, etc.) and, most importantly, the completed website gets better search results.
Painter will be attending the Orange County WordCamp being held this year in Costa Mesa, CA. She is looking forward to attending two full days of lectures, live demos, Q&A sessions, and specialized web development workshops. It will also be an enjoyable way to meet other professionals that specialize in developing WordPress websites.
